my side Of The StoRey

Assalamualikum guys,

Everyone got their own version of the BADANG journey. Well now I’m going to tell my side of the story and hope others will follow suit.

1^st thing 1^st , well it started one nite when crow was chatting online with me. He asked me if I want to join this JPS kayaking thing. Well sure I said. At first we taught that it was just a rowing competition. Well I’m interested all right since I have a few rowing experience. The thing is I didn’t know that it was a concrete thingy that I have to row. Well what a surprise it was. Several days after day after that, mus was gathering the names in the spss class conducted by Prof Ahmad Syukri. They were locked outside because they were late. That’s when alynn joined and akem story fit into the picture.

A few week past after that, so the team gathered for the first time. I was not there because I have gone to JKR doing some assignment. That nite they told me what was happening. What a surprise, we have to design n build the damn thing. Huhuhu everyone was in a state where no one know where to start. So I look trough the internet about the concrete canoe thing. It was an eye opening on what will we be doing. I’ve have a general idea what we have to do. Then I’ve told juna what have I found and thought. Then we consulted our team captain. First I didn’t know there were and organization chart. No body told me. I ve known there were one after the 2^nd meeting. So I ended up with the design report team. On the 2^nd meeting our team present what we have found and what material we were going to use. And what we need. And decided after hari raya we need to come out with a model and basic design. Here goes nothing.

After the raya holiday it was me, akem and alynn were back first. Well at first we where planning to do a newspaper base model..so we follow trough.. it was hideous..urgh ugly…but we made it..then juna came back from Kelantan brought with him a concrete model..he told us at first that he didn’t do anything..thats why we ended with 2 models.. then there was the 3^rd meeting with the lecturers and the dean, well it was nerve racking since I’m not good at presenting. After we presented we eat a lot of yummy food. That’s was the first part of the journey.fewwww..long one.

Then, comes to build the thing, we started to test several testing on some material.hmm that’s was really funny ..well we tried mixing leca with so much stuff and it look ridicules. Well at that time we haven’t finish our final exam. After my last paper me, mus, alynn , amy en rasidi and DR Megat have to go to KL for press conference. That was a fist for me. We got to eat a lot of time..6 time maybe in one whole day..fewww..at that time was when BADANG Logo came out..PJay drawn it, Akem got to choose the color, meen colored it and I got to digitized it. Alynn and Amy did the browser. That’s that..

Come time when the construction time, we were divided into two group, 1^st the mould construction and one the material development. I was involve in the development with pjay,crow, alynn. I was long hard hour to get the thing right. At last we did it. Then after the mould finish, it was time for casting, and suddenly Juna as the head contructing team went home..every thing was delayed because we were a little bit slow..huhuhuh but we have fun and serious about it.. we stayed up until 1 or 2 in the morning.

When the casting was finish, we were very tired. Then came the floating test this is where aeti joined the team, we have a few conflict with the hydraulic lab..huhuhu then when were moving the BADANG into the tank suddenly the side of the canoe collapse. Argdhhhh everyone was in shocked. Then we repaired it and tested it the next day. And with a big grin everyone were really happy cause the test was successful. But during the time between the repair and the test bedah was constructed..but I was involve in the design report..and in one week the report was finish will mus was in Beijing. We got positive comment from the JPS about the report. Then after that we consentrated on the poster and banner. This is when we started to sleep very late.. we started at 10 am and finish at 5 am.. and tanks to Abang CD for belanjaing us..heheheh we continued our routine till the very last day before we went to Cyberjaya.. and on the day of departure we finish packing all the stuff at 235pm. And we were schedule to departure at 245pm..and we haven’t pack our own cloth yet.. pretty hectic.

Then its time to prepare the exhibition. We were in shocked when we found out the tent was so small…and guys you guys know the rest..after the floatation test, me, aeti and juna when for a swim at the pool. And thiz guys just keep standing there..he was the guard.. then we when back to our room..then I took a bubble bath..and I nearly fell a sleep..hihihih that was why we were late going down meeting everyone else..hihihi sory guys..then on the way back to the hotel after dinner( SATAY KAJANG, Thanks DR Bad and DR Megat) a found out I was partnered with pjay.. I was not confident at all not because of pjay but because of me.. I was low on energy and stamina.. so when the time comes.. the I was in shocked how well were we perform. Cause the other Uni was terrible.(sorry guys.) we were ok cause we train daily after 5 at our Redac Pond till 7. So practice makes perfect. So we ended up getting a medal in each category. The least expected one was the design category..we expect we didn’t get any. The money were a bonus to me..but the real deal was the experience and the bond we have created during this journey, and now were ever we go we will remember this for the rest of our life. To me what was best was the friendship. The hardwork for 1 and ½ month or so was tiring but interesting, where it have develop me into more appreciative person. BEST of the Best..is that we will be going to CARNIVAL theme park Together. GO BADANG…thanks and sorry to everyone that are patient for hearing harsh thing that I said.
